Today RIPE NCC, the Regional Internet Registry for Europe, announced via their mailing list that there are no IPv4 addresses left in the Europe region.
There is now a waiting list in operation, which you can view the status of here but (at the time of writing) 11 LIRs have already joined the list. The only way to get a block of addresses from the waiting list is to wait for IANA to return recovered addresses back to RIPE NCC. In addition, LIRs can only get a /24 instead of a /22 when they get to the top of the waiting list queue (and just like the old policy, you can’t have any additional blocks if you already have one)
So… have you got your IPv6 addresses yet?
